History
- Castle was build by the nobel family Neuffen and later the castle was owned by lords of Weinberg.
- Then the castle was sold to Counts of Wüttenberg (House of Wüttenberg) in the 14th century.
- The infamous Duke Ulrich of Wüttenberg later fortified the castle for his militory purposes and also used as a prison to torture and hold political prisoners with high ranks
- During the war between Duke Ulrich of Wüttenberg and the Swabian League, the castle surrendered itself to the Swabian League.
- Again during the Thirty years war in the 17th century, the castle surrendered itself into the Imperial Army.
